Not Urgent is a taste-driven guide to the best local spots—restaurants, shops, services, and hidden gems—curated by people who actually live in the neighborhood. Think of it as a hand-picked short list, not a review site: one trusted pick per category so you spend less time scrolling and more time enjoying great places.

We are currently launching an iOS app.

What will the app let me do?
The iOS app will let you save, organize, and share your own favorite businesses.

How will I know when the app is launched?
Newsletter members will get an email once the app is launched.

How do I nominate a business for best in category?
1. Tell us about the place – Fill out the “Submit a business” form.

2. Expect a curator review – Our neighborhood editors check that the listing fits our “one-best” standard.

3. Go live – Once approved, the place appears in the public list for that neighborhood. You’ll get an email confirming it’s live.

Who decides what gets approved?
Local volunteer curators (long-time residents, chefs, creatives) review each submission to keep the lists short and genuinely useful.

Can businesses submit themselves?
Absolutely. Owners and managers can suggest their own venue, but it goes through the same curator vetting to maintain trust and quality.

How long does approval take?
Most submissions are reviewed within two days. During peak periods it may take up to a week, but we’ll email you as soon as a decision is made.

What are the business benefits of being approved?
A spot on the Not Urgent website means you become the recommended choice in your category for that neighborhood—no noisy ranking pages, just you. Businesses typically see:

Can I become an expert curator?
Curatorship is invite-only for now. We hand-pick long-time locals and field experts to keep the guide truly selective. If you think you’d be a great fit, start recommending places and adding your personal favorites to the iOS app when it's live (we'll reach out to invite you!).
